KAMLOOPS, B.C., July 16, 2026— Kamloops Airport (YKA) and Air North, Yukon’s Airline, announce new twice-weekly seasonal service between Kamloops and Vancouver beginning in May 2027, with convenient one-stop connections to and from Whitehorse. By linking Kamloops with Vancouver, one of Canada’s largest domestic and international gateway airports, the new service will create additional opportunities for business travel, tourism and economic development while making it easier for visitors to explore British Columbia’s Interior and the North.

Air North is continuing to build Canada’s best regional air network with the addition of Kamloops, British Columbia, as its newest destination. The new service will strengthen connections between British Columbia’s Interior, Metro Vancouver and the North while creating new opportunities for business, tourism and regional connectivity.

“Our mission is to build Canada’s best regional air network, and that begins with creating stronger connections between the communities we serve,” said Benjamin Ryan, Chief Commercial Officer, Air North. “Every new route we launch is an investment in the North, supporting local economies, encouraging tourism, strengthening business ties and making it easier for people to connect with family, friends and new experiences.”

As the gateway to the Thompson and Shuswap regions, Kamloops is an ideal starting point for exploring British Columbia’s Interior, from scenic lakes and hiking trails to wineries, golf courses and unforgettable outdoor experiences. Beyond its appeal as a leisure destination, Kamloops is a growing economic hub with expanding opportunities in transportation, mining, education and sport, health care and technology. The new service will strengthen connections between Kamloops, Metro Vancouver and the North while creating new opportunities for business collaboration, tourism and international visitation through Vancouver.

“Welcoming Air North to Kamloops is a significant development for our airport and our community,” said Jim Moroz, Managing Director of Kamloops Airport. “This new service strengthens regional connectivity, provides travellers with greater choice, and supports tourism, business and economic development throughout the Thompson-Okanagan. We look forward to building a strong partnership with Air North as they become part of the YKA network.”

The new service has been supported by YKA LINK, a regional collaborative partnership of tourism, business and government organizations working together to strengthen air service, improve regional connectivity and expand access to communities and visitor experiences across British Columbia’s Interior. “This announcement reflects exactly what YKA LINK was created to achieve,” Bill Sarai, Board President, Kamloops Airport Authority Society and Kamloops City Councillor. “By bringing tourism, business, local governments and the airport together with one voice, we have been able to demonstrate the strength of this market and the opportunities our region offers. We are thrilled to welcome Air North and look forward to supporting the long-term success of this service.”

Flights are now available for booking through Air North’s website at flyairnorth.com and participating travel partners. The new service begins in May 2027.
