Checking In
Online Check-in Form
Identification Policy
Air North, Yukon’s Airline is required by the Government of Canada to verify the identity of any passengers who are 18 years of age or older, including those who appear 18 years of age or older. To do so, passengers will be required to show proof of identification at check-in and prior to boarding.
Check the name and validity before you go
Before you leave for the airport, make sure your identification has not expired and that the spelling of your name matches your booking, otherwise we will be required to refuse boarding. Please contact us immediately if you discover that your name is misspelt on your booking.
We're looking forward to welcoming you on-board your flight!
ID Requirements
We recommend verifying what types of identification are accepted for travel within Canada by visiting the Government of Canada’s Pre-boarding identification requirements page, especially if you are not a Canadian resident. In most cases, a valid passport is the most reliable option.
Passenger | Requirements |
---|---|
Adults 18 years of age or older |
|
Infants Under two years of age |
Identification is not required by law, but is recommended. Birth certificate or birth registry are ideal, and photocopies are permitted. |
Children Travelling with Parents or Guardians Age 5-12 |
No identification or other documentation is needed as long as they’re travelling with parents or guardians. |
Unaccompanied Minors Age 5-12 |
Identification is required. Please visit our Special Travel Requirements and Passenger Assistance page for details about Unaccompanied Minors. |
Children Travelling Alone Age 12-17 |
While ID is not required under the law for children between the ages of 12 and 17, they may be refused boarding if they appear under 12 and don’t have proof of age, or appear 18 years of age or older. As such, we recommend travelling with a birth certificate or non-government ID (e.g., a student card or health care card) that includes date of birth. |

Important Advice
- If you’re uncertain about whether your flight will receive security screening, we recommend that you use the required times for flights that are screened—check in at least 45 minutes prior to the flight and arrive at the airport 90 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
- At the airport, please have your photo ID ready for the check-in agent, and make yourself familiar with our baggage guidelines. If you have speciality baggage requirements (such as oversize items), we recommend allowing an extra 30 minutes for check-in.
- All passengers must be present at the gate no less than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. We may deny boarding to any passenger who are not at the gate before the 15 minute cutoff.
