Pacific Salmon Foundation (PSF) is thrilled to announce that the 16th Annual Vancouver Gala Dinner and Auction set a record for the organization with over $240,000 raised for salmon conservation and restoration in British Columbia and the Yukon.
Over 600 guests at the Vancouver Convention Centre enjoyed a fantastic silent auction, inspired food donated by FAS Seafood Producers of Victoria, great wines contributed by the Boathouse Group of Restaurants and a chance to Think Salmon and learn about the incredible west coast salmon ecosystem.
The live auction, hosted by Greg Rollo of Ritchie Brothers Auctioneers was a resounding success. A trip for two down the Yukon River donated by Great River Journey and Air North, Yukon's Airline, of Whitehorse set a live auction record with a winning bid of $18,500.
The winner of the record setting trip will enjoy an exceptional opportunity to be one of the first guests to travel 600km through the heart of the Yukon wilderness as one of Great River Journey's adventurous inaugural Patrons. In addition, Great River Journey has generously offered a rare chance for Pacific Salmon Foundation supporters to join the Patrons this summer at special rates. Please visit www.greatriverjourney.com/psf/ for more information about this great offer.
Funds raised from the live and silent auctions as well as the raffles held during the evening will benefit the many Pacific salmon conservation and recovery projects underway and being planned for the west coast and the Yukon.
