Air North, Yukon's Airline was honoured to win the inaugural 2012 Frozen Globe Award for Best Marketed Northern Business from Up Here Business Magazine at a gala ceremony in Yellowknife last night.
"Building the Air North, Yukon's Airline brand took a team effort over many years," said Josh Clark, Air North's Director of Commercial Development. "We're honoured and excited to be receiving a Frozen Globe Award."
"We could not have accomplished all of this as individuals," Clark continued. "It's been a team effort over many years, with dedicated staff and contractors working from early morning to late at night, on weekends and holidays - and we'd like to recognize and thank them for that. It's also thanks to the amazing customer service efforts from everyone in the company, as well as the support we've received from our passengers, stakeholders and shareholders."
This marketing award comes on the heels of a successful year for Air North. The airline celebrated both its 35th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of Boeing 737 service between Whitehorse, Vancouver, and Calgary – and welcomed its millionth Boeing 737 passenger. Air North also won an award for its efforts and leadership in safety from the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering.
The Air North marketing and sales team plans to celebrate the win with a quick high-five.
