Compassionate Travel
Air North offers a compassionate travel fare for those times when travel is a necessity due to a family member in a life-threatening situation. For specific fare information call reservations at (867) 668.2228 ext 1 or toll free in North America 1.800.661.0407 ext 1.
Please be prepared to provide the following information at time of booking:
- Name of patient
- Relationship to patient
- Name, address and phone number of attending physician or hospital.
Eligibility for compassionate travel is limited to:
- Patients in intensive care
- Heart attack
- Final stages of cancer - travel more than once may occur
- Serious accidents
- Hospitalization includes admission to a hospice or other facility when recommended by a doctor and preceded by a hospital stay.
These fares offer flexibility, which includes one complimentary change of reservation date.
Bereavement Travel
Air North offers a bereavement travel fare for those times when travel is a necessity due to the passing of a family member or due to imminent death / palliative care circumstances. For specific fare information call reservations at (867) 668.2228 ext 1 or toll free in North America 1.800.661.0407 ext 1.
Please be prepared to provide the following information at time of booking:
- Name of deceased
- Relationship of deceased
- Name, address and phone number of doctor filing death certificate or of memorial/funeral home for deceased family member.
If you are not able to provide the information prior to your departure date, you may request a credit file once your travel is completed. You may be asked to provide:
- Travel documents (boarding passes and ticket receipt)
- A copy of the death certificate or Funeral Director's certificate.
Eligibility for compassionate and bereavement travel is limited to:
Immediate family including: spouses (married, common-law, same sex), parents, children, siblings, in-laws, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, grandparent, grand children, step relatives and executor of the estate.
These fares offer flexibility, which includes one complimentary change of reservation date.
